Empower Her Maternity provides a comprehensive crash course into the Black maternal health crisis. Our platform offers a wealth of resources and educational materials to empower you or your loved ones throughout the birthing journey. From addressing disparities to providing support, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on maternal health.
Focusing on the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, Empower Her Maternity intends to raise awareness and help fight the stigma surrounding this Black maternal health crisis.
Advocacy and Action
By implementing this comprehensive action plan, we can work towards achieving equitable maternal health outcomes for Black mothers and addressing the systemic injustices that contribute to disparities in maternal health. This will require collaboration, commitment, and sustained effort from healthcare providers, policymakers, community organizations, and advocates to create a future where every Black mother receives the care and support she deserves.
Continuing Education for Healthcare providers
Continuing education for health providers on implicit bias trainings and warning signs enhances self awareness and proactively combats this concept that negatively impacts Black women throughout their health journey, specifically their pregnancy and birthing journey.
Support for Communities
Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the health facility to help ensure Black mothers and families have the necessary support to safely experience their birthing journey.
